Once I started paying attention to current seams, drop-offs, laydowns, submerged rocks, weed edges, shade, and other fish-holding cover, everything changed. I wasn’t just casting and hoping anymore. I could look at a piece of water and understand why a fish might be there.

About Me

I Was Taught to Find Fish Before I Was Taught to Cast

Fishing runs deep in my family. My grandfather and my father both made their living on the water, so some of my earliest memories are of watching them read a shoreline, study the current, and figure out where fish were likely to be.

Before fishing ever became a passion of my own, I had already learned one thing: finding fish usually has a lot less to do with luck than people think.

My father taught me not to just look at the water, but to read it. Current breaks, depth changes, shade, rocks, laydowns, shoreline cover, and small changes most people walk right past can tell you a lot about where fish may be holding. Once you learn to see those clues, you quit casting at random. You start picking spots for a reason.

That’s why I created FIND THE FISH. I wanted to take what I learned growing up, add the lessons I’ve picked up from years on the water, and turn it into a practical visual guide.

The goal is simple: when you walk up to a river, lake, or reservoir you’ve never fished before, you should be able to look at the water, spot the places worth trying, and know where to make that first cast.
