A Journey of Passion and Sharing Fishing Knowledge

Among anglers, I’m known as Pininca. Fishing has been part of my life since childhood, back when I would follow my father to the river before sunrise and learn by watching, listening, and spending long hours on the water.

I grew up in a family where fishing knowledge was passed down through three generations. To me, a fishing rod has never been just a piece of gear. It represents time on the water, lessons learned through experience, and a tradition carried from one generation to the next.

This website is where I document what I’ve learned from rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and new water along the way. My goal is simple: to share practical fishing knowledge, real observations, and useful ideas that other anglers can take with them on their own trips.

Where My Passion Began and My Journey Into Lure Fishing

Before I even knew how to hold a fishing rod properly, I was already learning to read a river by watching the current. My grandfather taught me that first, and later my father passed down the same lessons he had learned from him.

Every rocky bank, river bend, current seam, and quiet pocket seemed to carry a story. I grew up hearing those stories long before I fully understood what they were teaching me.

Fishing does not make anyone skilled overnight. I had plenty of days when I went home empty-handed, sitting on the bank and wondering what I had missed. Those blank days taught me to pay closer attention to the water, notice when fish were moving, and understand that consistent success comes from observation more than luck.

Over time, I learned that good anglers notice the small things: a subtle change in current, a shift in depth, a patch of shade, baitfish moving near the surface, or a piece of structure others might overlook.

The more water I explored, from the rivers near home to unfamiliar places far away, the clearer one lesson became: fishing knowledge only becomes truly useful when it has been tested on real water, trip after trip.

What I Want to Share Through My Books

My family’s fishing tradition has slowly faded with time. My grandfather passed what he knew to my father, and my father passed those lessons on to me. But I have always known that if no one takes the time to record them, much of that knowledge could eventually disappear.

I do not want that to happen.

That is why I started writing down the lessons, techniques, observations, and stories I have gathered through years of fishing. I wanted to give them a place that could outlast memory and remain useful to someone else long after the conversation on the riverbank is over.

For new anglers, one of the hardest parts is simply knowing where to begin. There is more fishing information online than ever, but that does not always make things clearer. My books are not written to promise shortcuts or turn anyone into an expert overnight. They are meant to give you a practical foundation you can build on:

• how to read the water  
• how to recognize better times to fish  
• how to match the right lure to the water and conditions  
• and, most importantly, how to develop the patience and persistence that fishing demands  

These are the lessons I wish I had understood earlier. I have simply gathered them in one place so other anglers can spend less time guessing and more time learning from the water itself.

The Values I Want to Share With the Community

To me, fishing has never been only about how many fish you bring to hand. It is also about how you treat the water, the fish, and the natural places that make this passion possible in the first place.

I support catch and release where conservation needs call for it, especially in waters where fish populations need time and protection to recover. Keeping healthy fisheries for the next generation matters more than filling a cooler today.

I also believe in fishing safely, following local regulations, respecting access, and treating other anglers with the same respect you would want on the water.

These are the values I hope to pass on through my books and through everything I share on this website: enjoy the fishery, learn from it, and leave it in good shape for the anglers who come after us.
